Phulkari is the name of an embroidery technique, traditionally done with silk thread in geometric patterns. Most commonly made in bright pink & orange motifs, colors of fertility, these embroideries were worn by brides at the time of their wedding festivities.
Phulkari embroideries have been passed down for generations by the women of Punjab, each stitch technique native to a different village of the region. By purchasing this blanket you are helping to keep the spirit & craft of each village alive.
